Accessibility
The MHNC-UP is an inclusive and accessible facility that seeks to meet the access and comfort needs of its visitors.
In accordance with legal provisions, the refurbishment of its infrastructure, located in historic buildings, has been, is and will continue to be planned with a view to meeting the specific needs of various types of visitors, including citizens with disabilities, ensuring the highest levels of comfort, safety and satisfaction.
All MHNC-UP units have the following conditions:
- Level access and reduced architectural barriers at entrances:
- Stabilised, even flooring that is easy to walk on;
- Toilets equipped for use by visitors with reduced mobility, complying with regulations and current legislation, also equipped with baby changing facilities;
- Rest and contemplation areas;
- Adapted waste disposal bins.
The Museum's Core Pole and the Hall of Biodiversity– Ciência Viva Centre have lifts connecting all floors.
The Botanical Garden of the University of Porto has two large parking spaces within the premises.
Upon request, wheelchairs are available for free use at the reception of the Core Pole and the Hall of Biodiversity.
