Splendid isolation

The scenery exits the screen, it becomes physical, palpable. You can peek. On the walls, the same character but in different narratives. Could they be sequences of the same story? Are you ready for a new experience that this artist’s animation cinema proposes?

It is true that nearby, at the Botanical Garden of the University of Porto, there is a greenhouse. But it’s not within the house itself! From film to reality, Splendid Isolation brings us a greenhouse and places it inside the Hall of Biodiversity. And there is someone in a lacy dress and long black hair who looks after it. This is an exhibition that accompanies and expands this year’s edition of the Cinanima Festival. It is another approach to author animation cinema.

The Splendid Isolation exhibit, (authored) by Lea Vidakovic, is a product of the partnership between the Casa Comum of the University of Porto, the MHNC-UP, and the CINANIMA animation festival.
