11 de maio a 11 de junho de 2023 – Polo Central do MHNC-UP
De 11 de maio a 11 de junho de 2023, o MHNC-UP acolhe no Laboratório Ferreira da Silva a exposição Escombreiras, organizada pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto e pelo i2ADS – Instituto de Investigação em Arte, Design e Sociedade.
Enquanto exposição final do projeto SHS – Soil health surrounding former mining areas: characterization, risk analysis, and intervention (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000056) são apresentados os resultados das cinco residências de investigação artística: Susana Soares Pinto focou-se na antiga zona mineira do Pejão (Castelo de Paiva), nas imediações do Cavalete do Fojo, onde, junto com a comunidade e ao longo de dois anos, fizeram uma intervenção experimental de remediação; Carla Cruz, Cláudia Lopes e Miguel Leal trabalharam sobretudo em volta do território do Geoparque de Arouca tendo como premissa olhar os resíduos resultantes das atividades mineiras, sejam estes arquitetónicos ou os resíduos politico-poéticos deixados na paisagem e nos corpos, na memória das gentes e da terra; Graciela Machado partiu das Minas de Regoufe / Complexo mineiro da Poça da Cadela para um trânsito entre espaços mineiros, da ciência e eidos de família situados nas margens da Europa; e Domingos Loureiro, perseguiu a ocupação mineira, sobretudo do volfrâmio, no Parque das Serras do Porto, e desenvolveu uma intervenção artística propondo a valorização do simbólico como ação de recuperação do território e da paisagem.

May 11 to June 11, 2023 – Core Pole of the MHNC-UP
From May 11 to June 11, 2023, the MHNC-UP hosts, at the Ferreira da Silva Laboratory, the exhibition Escombreiras exhibition organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and by i2ADS – Institute of Research in Art, Design and Society.
As a final presentation of the project SHS – Soil health surrounding former mining areas: characterization, risk analysis, and intervention (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000056), the results of five artistic research residencies are presented: Susana Soares Pinto focused on the former mining area of Pejão (Castelo de Paiva), in the vicinity of Cavalete do Fojo, where, together with the community and over the course of two years, an experimental remediation intervention was carried out; Carla Cruz, Cláudia Lopes and Miguel Leal worked mainly around the territory of the Arouca Geopark by looking into the residues, whether architectural or political-poetic, left in the landscape and in the bodies and memory of the people and the land; Graciela Machado started her journey between mining spaces, science and family eidos located on the shores of Europe in the Minas de Regoufe / Poça da Cadela mining complex; and Domingos Loureiro, examined mining occupation, especially wolfram, in Parque das Serras do Porto, and developed an artistic intervention suggesting the valorization of the symbolic as an action to recover the territory and the landscape.
