Galeria da Biodiversidade – Centro Ciência Viva
Até 15 de janeiro de 2023, a Galeria da Biodiversidade – Centro Ciência Viva acolhe a exposição “As duas faces da Amazónia”.
Integrada na “Semana da Amazónia“, uma iniciativa resultante da parceria da Universidade do Porto com a Fundação Amazónia Sustentável (FAS), o Instituto Amigos da Amazónia (iAMA), a Universidade Nilton Lins, de Manaus e o FESTin, esta é uma exposição que nos pretende colocar perante as duas faces da região amazónica: por um lado, temos a Amazónia ameaçada e degradada pelo desmatamento e a exploração desordenada; e por outro a Amazónia exuberante, com uma fauna e flora tão impressionantes quanto irrepetíveis.
Com curadoria do jornalista Alexei Waichenberg e projeto expográfico da arquiteta Betina Lorenzetti. Fotos de Gisele Alfaia e acervo da FAS, a que se associam alguns recursos sensoriais.

THE TWO FACES OF THE AMAZON

Hall of Biodiversity – Ciência Viva Center
Until January 15, 2023, the Hall of Biodiversity – Ciência Viva Center will host the exhibition “The two faces of the Amazon”.
As part of the “Amazon Week”, an initiative resulting from the partnership between the University of Porto and the Fundação Amazónia Sustentável (FAS), the Instituto Amigos da Amazónia (iAMA), the Universidade Nilton Lins, of Manaus and FESTin, this is an exhibition which challenges us to stand before the two faces of the Amazon region: on the one hand, we have the Amazon that threatened and degraded by deforestation and disorderly exploitation; and on the other hand, the exuberant Amazon, with an impressive and unique fauna and flora.
Curated by journalist Alexei Waichenberg and with an expographic project by architect Betina Lorenzetti. Photos by Gisele Alfaia and the FAS collection, coupled with a selection of sensory resources.
